Editor's note

Culture industrialization the witnesses/participants of which we are voluntary or not reminded me of the story about the trap for a Heffalump from the English tale about Winnie-The-Pooh. Do you remember that a bear cub and Piglet decided to catch a mysterious Heffalump. Winnie-The-Pooh talked about Heffalump as about a subject known to him: he knew what it loves, where it will pass and what can decoy it. As a result ingenuously Winnie-The-Pooh fell into the trap he made himself.

Editor's note

I cannot insist that people who live in cities and towns suffer from imperfection of their environment. Every day is habitual and full out with a mass of concerns. The realization of a real quality of city environment comes as a rule when a person finds himself in such a place where everything is made according to his needs, where the environment is created for Man. And it is not a matter of beauty behind the window or ancient architecture, quiet narrow streets or busy "Broadways".

We remember a well-known to everybody in Russia letter of Vanka Zhukov by Chekhov not only by its extreme despair and tendency to defend his world, human dignity, but also by understanding that this appeal to nowhere, «To Grandfather in the village» even with such expressiveness is doomed. To what and whom is our daily work directed? Is it really directed to «optimization of budget expenses», «satisfaction of people? s needs» and things like that? Today we live in the changing country, the bases of the future life organization are forming and it is not a post-soviet life any more.

Anti-epigraph «I could write something about an elephant but I would hardly write how to treat it. That is the way it is!» Haruki Murakami. Hear the Wind Sing. This issue is the opposite of what is written in the epigraph. There are many examples of how to treat «an elephant» that is earnestly and without being afraid to make simple, understandable and useful actions for those who are around you.
