Editor's note We remember a well-known to everybody in Russia letter of Vanka Zhukov by Chekhov not only by its extreme despair and tendency to defend his world, human dignity, but also by understanding that this appeal to nowhere, «To Grandfather in the village» even with such expressiveness is doomed. To what and whom is our daily work directed? Is it really directed to «optimization of budget expenses», «satisfaction of people? s needs» and things like that?
Today we live in the changing country, the bases of the future life organization are forming and it is not a post-soviet life any more.
